Oregon Council Fall Meeting held at Portland Regional 09-27-08
Meeting called to Order at 1 pm by Vice President Lenora Smith.
Vickie Johnson reported that Oregon will be celebrating 150th year on Saturday February 14th at the Capitol. She asked if we could contact our members to furnish a few polished rocks to be given to the children that come to the celebration. She will need to get them by January 30th.
Capitol Showcase Report: The Grants Pass is in until November 15th and then, the Roxy Ann will go in after Nov. 15th.
Spring Meeting: Grants Pass will have the meeting in connection with their show. Andrea and Clyde Wilson will get the date of the show and let us know. There was additional discussion regarding holding council meetings at different areas around the state.
Hemlock area - no new information.
The judges for the Oregon Council competitive cases were: Dan Zaiss, Vickie Johnson and Lenora Smith. The competition included entries from the Mt. Hood, Oregon Agate and Tualatin clubs. La Mar Tilgner won the trophy this year.
Dan Zaiss reported that October 6th we will be billed for the Web site $236.00 for another year.
Meeting Adjourned. The next council meeting is tentatively scheduled to coincide with the Rogue Gdem & Mineral Show.
