The Summer meeting of Oregon Council was convened on June 30, 2007 in Madras, Oregon.
Meeting called to order at l pm by President John Burford. There were 14 people attending.
Old Business
Don Young reported on Hemlock dig area - the lady said the man to check with was retiring and they can not meet until a replacement is hired. Carol Fischer wrote a letter to John about the Glide District Area.
A report was made that Weyerhaeuser is arresting people for digging in their property with out permission.
Need to find out who owns BLM area to see who has mineral rights.
The council's ammended By-Laws were accepted.
Treasures report
Approved as read.
Case Agent
FarWest in until November 15, 2007. The Capitol is closed on weekends.
New Business
Ellnora Young passed out letters they need 50,000 signatures on the petition to show your support for semi-primitive back country recreation designation.
Dan Zaiss will send quarterly reports to all clubs about our meetings. He will do that 3 times a year to preceed the next meeting by a period of at least one month.
Fall Meeting: Fall meeting will be held at the Portland Regional Show to be held September 29th. At the Portland Expo Center.
Judges for the All Oregon Competitive cases will be Dan Zaiss, Bee Settle, and Troy Smith. The judging committee reviewed the rules for this competition and decided they would remain the same. Judging will be Saturday a.m. at 9am. Oregon Council Meeting will be held at l pm.
Nominating Committee will be: Troy Smith, Paul Heesacker, and Don Innes.
Lower Umpqua Club will have their first show July 20,21, and 22. At Reedsport. At Reedsport Community Center.
