The Spring meeting of Oregon Council was convened on March 3l, 2007 in Sweet Home, Oregon. The meeting conicided with the Sweet Home Rock & Mineral Society's 59th Annual Rock & Gem Show.
Meeting was called to order at l pm by President John Burford.
Reports
Treasurers report submitted by Beth and approved as read.
Capitol Case
John introduced Vickie Johnson from the Salem club. She will be replacing Dan Groah as Case Agent at the Capitol Case. Vickie is working on the upcoming dates and contacting clubs.
Far West will have their display in May 2007.
John discussed the Hemlock area and other places that are of concern.
Next Meeting
Annual meeting will be held in Madras at the Fairground on June 30th at 1:00 p.m. John will tell us if we can be in the same room as last year.
Fall meeting will be at the Portland Regional Show Saturday October 6th at the Portland Expo. Center. Judges for the Oregon Council Trophy will be Dan Zaiss, Beth Heesacker, and Troy Smith. They will review the rules for All Oregon Material cases to see if they can clearify the rules.
New Business
Roy Ford gave a report on Cascade National Monument area however it was difficult to hear the tape he had. Discussion followed.
