The spring meeting of the Oregon Council of Rock and Mineral clubs was held on April 15, 2006, at the Farrell's restaurant next to the Polk County Fairgrounds, in Rickreall, Oregon.
Meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m. by Vice President Paul Heesacker in the absence of John Burford. 17 attended the meeting.
Reports
Treasurers report was given by Beth.
Dan Zaiss gave a report on the webb site and his ideas and also he would like to receive any suggestions you may have.
Capitol Showcase
Sweethome is in until May 2006. Judy also reported that it is a very nice display. Dan reported that South Douglas will be from May until November 2006.
Upcoming Meeting
The OCRMC's Annual meeting will be held on Saturday, July lst 2006, at the Jefferson County Fairground, in Madras, Oregon. Dan Groah will arrange for the meeting place.
The Fall meeting will be held on Saturday September 30th, 2006, at the Portland Regional Show, which will be held at the Portland Exposition Center. In addition to admission to the show, there will be a parking fee of $7.00.
Judy discussed the displays for the Oregon Council "all" Oregon material competition displays and urged everyone to help get members from their clubs to enter in the competition.
Other Business
Beth Heesacker reported on the update for the By Laws is on hold for now. Next meeting she hopes to have changes done and we can discuss them at the July lst meeting in Madras.
Ellnora Young read an article they received about Grants Pass areas and closures of areas.
